Do you remember writing out spelling words? If you missed a word you probably had to write it out 3 or more times for practice. But those words probably stuck in your head! I love to share ideas on how to grow in our spiritual lives. One method I’ve used to get God’s Word into my heart is to write out a particular verse or passage. This helps me memorize it, and gives me time to consider each word in the passage. Just like those spelling words, the Scriptures I write tend to stick in my head and heart just a little better.
This week, Alyson shared a post with 10 reasons to hand-write Bible verses (plus 2 additional reasons).Let me say – I was not expecting the list I found! ~wink! The reasons she shares are beautiful reminders to me of just how blessed we are to have the Scripture. They are also a challenge to me to continue to live out my faith, and to keep digging deeper in my relationship with the Lord.
The additional reasons she shares add a rich depth to her 10 main reasons. There is beauty in building consistency in our quiet time, and in learning more about God through His Word.
You will find some beautiful truth in Alyson’s post this week; I hope you’ll hop over and read it!
