Have you ever questioned the calling God has put on your life? Does someone else’s calling seem more like what you think you should be doing? Have you wished you could be the one who was front and center? I think we’ve all looked at someone else’s position, whether in church ministry or in blogging, or even in our everyday lives, and want to be someone else. Rebecca’s post this week was about when you want to be someone you’re not.
It seems to all come down to contentment. Rebecca gently walks us through two important things to know, regarding contentment, based on Paul’s writing in Philippians 4. Contentment doesn’t just happen; it’s something that needs to be learned. It takes work, and time with the Lord.
There’s a treasure there, in spending time with the Lord, and letting Him show us how we can be content. The Lord is so gracious about gently leading us to a deeper understanding of who He is, and of how we need to grow in Him. But it’s a process of choosing to be deliberate in our time with Him, and letting His Word and His truth be what fills us.
I hope you’ll read Rebecca’s post and answer her question at the end of the post. What a wonderful way to help shift our focus to contentment in Christ!
