Are you currently waiting on God to provide for you in some way? Perhaps you’re waiting for a place to move to, or provision of finances or material goods. I’m sure we’ve all experienced this at one time or another. This week, Maree’s post is about waiting on God to provide.
Maree shares a guest post from Abby that probably resonates with all of us. So often we have certain expectations about what our blessings will look like, but then we’re disappointed when our blessings look very different from what we expect. Abby’s story is full of disappointment, and rightfully so. She describes a move they have to make, and their home looks less than beautiful. This only added to the stress that the move was causing her.
One morning, though, she found her dog eating something that was left from the garden that the previous owners had tended. However, no one had taken care of the garden in months. She was struck by this thought and verse:
If God took care of this garden that had no one looking after it, wouldn’t he take care of us?
“If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?” Matthew 6:30 NIV
What a beautiful promise Matthew 6:30 is! Abby’s story is one that will bless and encourage you today if you are waiting on God. Thank you, Maree, for sharing it with us!
