Trusting God with our regrets
Have you ever been in a desperate situation? Have you ever made poor choices then searched for something… anything… to do to make things alright again?
If so, today’s plunge is for you. Read on…
Day 12
The Bread: Read John 6:22-71
The Devo: Read day 12 in Trust Without Borders: A 40-Day Devotional Journey to Deepen, Strengthen, and Stretch Your Faith in God
The Plunge: When we find our poor choices have led us into dire or painful consequences, we begin wondering how we can go back and undo the damage we’ve done. How can we change things? What can we do to make things right?
Today’s reading is about trusting God with our regrets and poor choices. This is sometimes the hardest choice of all. Yet God says, “If you stay in this land, I will build you up and not tear you down.”
The question of greatest importance is never, “How can I go back?” but “Will I trust God in the midst of my failure?” So today, let’s drill down and pinpoint any area where we are carrying regret in our hearts. Spend some time before the Lord trusting Lamentations 3:22-23 and Ezekiel 33:10. Also spend time in Jeremiah 42 from today’s devotional. Ask the Lord to grant you the faith to believe He will indeed “show you compassion and restore you.”
If today’s plunge resonates with you and you haven’t grabbed a copy of Trust Without Borders, I strongly suggest getting a copy and reading Day 12. I share the story of a woman who made a terrible choice in a split second that robbed her of her children. As I prayed for this mom, the Lord led me to Jeremiah 42 and I learned how to pray for those living with regret. I do hope you will be encouraged by the message of hope in this passage.
Have a great Sunday, friends. May the Lord’s presence strengthen your hearts today.

So, so good. Just the words from Him that I need.
