Spring Cleaning our Hearts

Has the urge to spring clean hit you? It always feels great to do some deep cleaning and purging of things that we don’t need anymore, doesn’t it? Just as we spring clean our homes and our gardens, we need to do some spring cleaning of our hearts. This week, Diana shared 6 ways that we can spring clean the garden of our hearts.

She reminds us that we should check our location, based on Psalm 1. She writes, “We should check the location of our standing, sitting, and walking as a Christian. Are we conformed to the World or transformed by the WORD?….Being planted by the Living Waters ensures stability and fruitful life even during adverse conditions.”

One of the spring cleaning suggestions she makes is to create barriers. What a wonderful reminder that is – that we need to protect our hearts. We need to allow the good things into our lives, that God has prepared for us. But not everything that comes our way is going to be the best thing for us. Boundaries help us to keep our priorities in check.

The tips that Diana shares are applicable to our personal lives, as well as our spiritual lives. What a wonderful post as we head into spring!

  2. Oh boy is this true. We regularly need to spring clean our hearts. I recently held an email challenge on my blog for this very thing. It is so important to regularly take stock of the sin and strongholds in your life. Taking every thought and action captive to the obedience of Christ!

Thank you for the linkup and for the reminder of this. God bless!

  3. Love this article! Thank you for sharing! I’m spring cleaning in a variety of aspects in my life, but never thought about including my heart :)
