How are you doing with your goals for the new year? Are you experiencing the change that you’re looking for? This week, I came across a post that spoke to a different way to achieve success in the changes we try to implement. Deborah’s post was about “Spiritual Spotters” and I appreciated the ideas that she shared this week.
Often, we call these people accountability partners, but I really appreciate thinking of them by a new name – “spiritual spotters”. When we think of spotters, we often think of sports or activities that require a specific level of expertise. They train hard, but they also need to be reminded to take a break and rest as well.
We all have that “thing” that tends to be a source of contention in our attempt to grow. Deborah shared that for her, it’s the lists she makes. You can probably identify that one thing in your life as well. She shared her desire to learn to choose rest this year, as the gift and necessity that it is. She has her spiritual spotters in place to help her achieve this goal.
As you make plans to grow in God’s grace this year, do you have spiritual spotters coming alongside you? Deborah explains what truths these people might speak into her life. I hope you’ll take just a few minutes to read her post and to consider this as a part of your plan to help achieve the goals you have for this year!
