The Secret Place {With Link Up}
What is your pastime?
I was challenged with this question this week.
Psalm 27:4 says,
“One thing have I asked of the Lord, that which I seek, inquire for, and insistently require; that I may dwell in His presence all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple.”
Dawn says, “These truths (about the beauty of God) should wreck us for the ordinary.”
Are we living wrecked? Are we so consumed by the goodness of God that seeking Him is our pastime?
These are questions I return to frequently, simply because I know how good the presence of God is… and personally, I don’t want to miss out!
Dawn’s post encouraged me to examine my daily hungers and activities. What is it I seek after? What do I insistently require? Is it the Lord? Is it something other than His presence?
Honest self-evaluation is helpful. After all, there’s no good reason to fill up on Doritos when there’s steak and potatoes to be had!

Hi Arabah Joy,
Thank you so much for featuring Dawn’s post. Questioning our pastimes is necessary. It’s the very thing I’ve been struggling with lately. Why do I want Doritos, when the goodness of God’s word is to be had?! Any who, can’t wait to read it.
Thanks also for hosting this wonderful linkup party. Have a blessed Good Friday and Resurrection Day!
Blessings,
Tiffiney
(So sorry, one of my links double posted- not sure how?)
I loved Dawn’s post when I read it this week. It was very provoking for certain. May you & yours have a blessed Easter!
What a pleasant surprise to visit you today and see your post is sharing words from my heart. Thank you so much! That verse in Psalms always makes me pause and seek Him…see His heart… BEHOLD him. May we all be wrecked for the ordinary as we seek him every day.
Thank you for hosting the Grace and Truth Link up so faithfully.
Blessings to you!
Dawn
