Praying Through the Hard Times

We hold a distinct privilege, as Christians, to be able to pray for one another. It’s a process that draws us closer to God and to the people we pray for. However, have you ever felt frustrated when someone asks you to pray for them? Not frustrated at the person, but just at the burden of one more prayer request?

This week Heather’s post touched on this frustration. No doubt, we all truly do want to lift each other up in prayer. But sometimes the burdens in our own lives weigh us down. It can be difficult to take on one more thing when we are already feeling overwhelmed.

What I loved about Heather’s post was that she kept pressing in, despite her feelings. She took her friend’s request to the Lord, and prayed over that request. What happened in her own heart is something that I’m sure we all long for. What a beautiful testimony to God’s love for us, when we continue to trust in Him.

I encourage you to read Heather’s post, and to remember that though we may feel overwhelmed with our earthly concerns, God stands ready to hear us, to encourage us, when we pray.
