Life certainly is messy at times, isn’t it? How often we try to hide away those parts of ourselves that are covered in muck, or that wear a cloak of shame. What is it, though, that often helps people to learn and grow the most in their relationship with the Lord? It’s a deep understanding that they aren’t the only one who struggles. Perhaps they struggle to understand Scripture, or maybe they struggle to understand the “why” of events in life. Some of the sweetest moments I’ve shared with people have been those when I’ve learned I’m not alone, or when I’m able to tell the next person that I have struggled, also.
This week, Becky shared a post where she tackled the question, “If my mess is the very thing that brings glory to God, am I willing to show people?” She shares about “digging in and digging out”. Many of the things in our lives might not be things we want the world to see. But when we commit to digging out everything that is a part of who we are, we come across some beautiful parts we might have forgotten. While she unearths some hard truths, Becky also uncovers some beautiful truths about her own life! Isn’t God good to give us those reminders?
Have you hidden things in the corners of your heart? Is it time to drag them into the light to look at them? This gives us an opportunity to take everything to God’s feet, to ask His will for each area of your life, and to let Him give purpose to the various parts of your life!
Hop over to Becky’s post for some tremendous encouragement this week!
