Do you enjoy gardening? It’s so easy to enjoy the beauty of both flower gardens and vegetable gardens in the summer. I appreciate the array of colors, the intricate design of leaves and plants, and I’m in awe that God took time to design such intricate details for us to enjoy. There’s something about a garden that is so peaceful and relaxing. This week, Rebekah shared lessons from a garden, and I was encouraged by what she shared.
As I read through Rebekah’s post, one common theme kept jumping out at me. The lessons she shares about can relate to so many areas – to the Christian life, to parenting, even to our ministry as bloggers. For example, one of the lessons she shared was not to judge the end from the beginning. When we plant seeds, it’s hard to imagine the growth that will take place from just that one seed. A flower, or a vegetable will come from that seed, and it will be many times larger than the seed itself. So if God calls us to a ministry, or to parenting, He’s going to “plant us” in the area He has prepared for us. Then just as the seed waits for the right conditions to grow, we must wait on the Lord for His perfect timing, and continue in the faith that He knows how best to grow us in that situation.
I’d encourage you to take a few moments to read Rebekah’s post and see how the Lord uses these lessons in your life. Ponder what areas you might apply them to. I think there’s a lot that we can take away from her encouragement. I’m all for taking time with the Lord, and asking Him to work in my life to show me ways that I can go deeper in my relationship with Him, and this post is a reminder to pause and enjoy His beauty, and to be still before Him!
