Where’s God? He doesn’t seem near.
This week there were several different posts on this topic, and it was such a good reminder that while we turn the calendar and draw nearer to this wonderful season full of holidays and family get-togethers, our hearts may feel something else. Some feel great loss, others feel stress and frustration in trying to get everything accomplished. If I had to guess, many of us struggle silently, not sharing the burden with others. Instead we feel alone, forgotten, as though our prayers have not been heard.
I appreciated Maree’s honesty this week, as she shared about a very intense struggle that she faced. She shared a very poignant post on how we can know that God is near. She was transparent in sharing her pain, but also God’s faithfulness.
Maree has been on a faith journey with the Lord recently, and due to her situation, she did what most of us probably do, too – she put up a wall to protect her heart. Too often, those walls end up keeping God out, too, don’t they?
As I was reading Maree’s story, I realized that the way God revealed Himself to be very near to her was the way He often does with me, too. Suddenly, in a moment we’re not expecting, we feel the peace of His presence and know that we are secure in Him!
I encourage you to hop over and read the post Maree shared. You’ll appreciate her story and her heart to remind us that God is near!
Thank you for this post, Maree!
