How to Face Fear and Still Trust God {with linkup}

Fear can be completely overwhelming, even all-consuming. It’s so easy for us to let one small incident that scares us, build up to a mountain of fear. Other times, though, we are faced with a deluge of things that seem to be going wrong and we wonder just how much we can take. Scaling that mountain of fear can seem incredibly difficult and it’s so important to keep our eyes focused on God and His Word.

Jessica shared a post on Candidly Christian this week that encouraged me this week. She shared her story of preparing for a mission trip, and her faith journey with the Lord as she prepared for this trip. So much seemed to go wrong and she found herself facing fear, wondering what God was calling her to, and how it might impact her family.

Friends, when God calls us to ministry of any capacity, it can be scary! It can have an impact on our entire family. It’s one thing to put our own life on the line for what God has; it’s an entirely different thing to put our family’s lives on the line.

Jessica walked us through four truths that we can reflect on when facing fear. These truths are a great reminder for us of how to face fear and still trust God. Would you take a few minutes and read through this post? Take these words of wisdom and use them as a reminder for your heart this week, no matter what you are facing!

  1. This is a great read, Arabah. It’s so true that we can trust God, even in the midst of trying circumstances. This blog reminds me of something encouraging I heard from Pastor De Courcy, “True security is not the absence of danger, but the presence of God” (https://www.ktt.org). Thank you, Jesus, for holding fast and for never leaving or forsaking us!
