Motherhood sure does have some ups and downs, doesn’t it? I feel so dependent on my Heavenly Father as I try to be the best mom for our children. I’ve heard the same sentiment from many of you as well. When parenting seems challenging, I often find myself running to the Lord, longing for more of His guidance in my life. Other times, I feel I need the gentle reminder to run back to my Father, and that came this week with Laura’s post on how to be a Christ-centered mom every day.
One thing I really appreciated from Laura’s post was that she gave outward steps and inward steps to be a Christ-centered mom. That means there are things we can do in our homes, and things we can do in our hearts, to help us focus more on Christ. And they aren’t hard steps. They’re probably ones that we’ve thought about, and maybe even implemented, but may just need a fresh reminder.
I’d encourage you to take some time with her post, jot down some thoughts, pray about it over the next few days, and see where God leads your heart as you seek to be a Christ-centered mother.
I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments about what area(s) you’re going to focus on. Perhaps we can pick one outward step, and one inward step to focus on. After reading Laura’s post, I was so thankful to have a Heavenly Father who cares about my parenting, who wants to bear my burdens, and who knows the struggle of parenting, and specifically of motherhood. What a gracious Father we have!
