As my kids grow older, I’m always intrigued by how very different they are at each stage of life. Of course there are the differences in what they can do on their own, but it’s fun to watch their personalities take shape and to see how they interact with people. There are those challenging times, though, when I’m not sure I know how best to help them.
Lois shared a beautiful post this week that offered hope for moms of daughters. Our daughters will go through a lot of things, and it’s such a good reminder that God chose these children for us – and He chose us for them.
We’ve gone through many of the same things they’re going to go through, and we have the experience that we’ve gained to be able to help them. Remember Middle School? How about the first time you had feelings for a guy? Remember adjusting to a roommate in college? Yup, we’ve all gone through things like that, haven’t we?
So often, the Lord gives us specific experiences that we may not understand at the time. But as our daughters grow up, those experiences may be ones He uses to help us as we parent our girls.
I hope you’ll hope over to read Lois’s post and find encouragement from it!
For those with sons, or without kids, a lot of what she has shared is so applicable, but she’s writing from a perspective of being of a mom of girls. ;) You’ll be blessed by her encouragement!
