As Christians, we know we are to believe in God, to have faith in His Word, to believe in His timing. But what about those times when unbelief creeps in? Or when we feel our fear rising? Have you been looked down on for a time of unbelief in your life? The truth is, in Christian circles, it can be very difficult to express our doubts or fears.
This week, Laura shared a post with a very familiar Bible story that deals with faith and unbelief. I appreciate the way she really dug into the story to point out aspects we may not think of as we read through the story.
Being a Christian does not mean that we will not have times of doubt. Following Jesus does not protect us from fear that can grip our hearts. In fact, Laura puts it like this:
But when we recognize they [fear, worry, unbelief] will come knocking at our door and remove the shame for feeling them it also makes it much easier to run to Jesus. We aren’t hiding out in shame hoping he doesn’t catch us in our unbelief.
