I’ll never forget a dear friend who was sharing her heart. She was brave to open up, to let the words pour forth, heavy as they were. The struggle she faced was enormous, and she wondered how she would cope. I listened, willing myself to have words of comfort for her, but everything I could come up with seemed like a cliche’. Besides, she knew the truth of God’s Word as much as I did, and the platitudes I had to offer seemed insignificant compared with her need.
Friends, have you ever felt this way? Has the truth of God’s Word seemed to be reduced to a simple cliche’? Culture has infiltrated our view of God, and of His power, when we feel that His Word is nothing more than a pat on the back. This week, Lois shared a touching post on the power of God’s Word to provide encouragement for your heart. She takes on three of the simple truths about the Lord, and about His power in our lives, to remind us that, as His children, these simple truths are just that: true!
As we think back on our lives, though, what has been the foundational truth that our faith is built on? Often it’s the simple truths:
Jesus loves me.
God is good.
God will make a way.
These are all simple truths, but truths nonetheless. Lois shares beautifully about some of these truths, and how we can still share them as encouragement for our hearts!
I hope you’ll head over to her post and read the reminders that she shares, that God’s Word, and His truth is still encouragement for your heart!
