We can shift so easily from feeling fully satisfied in our lives, to feeling a strong sense of dissatisfaction. For example, we might have a really good week where we’ve met our goals, we’ve had a great time with our kids, and we’ve caught up on that to-do list. But then, just a week later, the kids have break and the schedule gets all out of whack. Perhaps we even miss our time with the Lord and feel spiritually dry. It seems He’s not answering our prayers as quickly as a week ago. We wonder where He is as things continue to slide out of our control. That feeling of satisfaction crumples to complete dissatisfaction. How do you deal with dissatisfaction that can creep into your spiritual life?
Rachel’s post spoke to those feelings we all struggle with. She shared 3 tips for the dissatisfied Christian, and her tips were a refreshing reminder of how to get through those tough weeks.
Remember the story of Elijah in I Kings 18? Rachel shares
He literally just witnessed a miraculous and mighty move of God, yet shortly after this mountaintop high, he is found lying in the valley lows of depression.
Wow! Talk about feeling low, unhappy, dissatisfied. But just as Elijah did, we can lose sight of the ways the Lord works in our lives, and we can struggle with short sightedness that clouds our perspective.
If you are struggling today, if this week has been hard, head over to read Rachel’s post for some deep encouragement!
