The Christian’s Night Goggles

31 days of trust without borders

Day 39

1. The Bread: Read John 21:15-25

2. The Devo: Read Day 39 in Trust Without Borders

3. The Plunge: Today’s plunge is one of the trust exercises pulled directly from Trust Without Borders. This helps us view our dark circumstances through the truth of God’s character. Take some time with it today.

 Sit down and list all the attributes of God you can think of. Slip these attributes on as your night goggles.

 Take your dark circumstance and view it through God’s attributes. Example: “Because God is both kind and wise, He arranged these (fill in the blank) circumstances in my life.” Ask Him to show you His goodness, nature, wisdom, and kind pur-poses in this and to help your unbelief. Repeat this when fears, doubt, and distrust creep back in.

 Turn promises into weapons. Romans 4:20-21 says that Abraham battled unbelief by reminding himself of the promise of God. If we neglect the promises of God, we are only half-prepared for battle. It is through recalling specific promises that we resist the temptation to doubt and unbelief. If you haven’t already, take a few moments to list out the specific things you doubt God on. Then find promises in scripture regarding these areas and write them out. Review these promises as you are tempted to unbelief.

I’ll see you tomorrow for our final day!
