Many of you joined us for the Choosing Confidence Bible Study, and what a blessing that was! I’m still learning and growing in my confidence, and in understanding how the Lord sees me. I am so excited that my friend, Jen, shared about her new devotional this week, because it continues the theme of confidence that the Lord is teaching me.
Jen shares beautifully about authentic confidence in her post, starting a story of a huge leap of faith that she and her husband had to take. As most of us would be, she questioned her ability, whether others would accept her, or if they would see her in the way she sometimes saw herself: not quite adequate. This quote really resonates with me:
The problem is that the world so often begins the idea of confidence with a lie, as in self-confidence.
Wow, that sure is the truth, isn’t it? The world has us so twisted to make us think that we need to be confident in ourselves. As those who reflect the Lord, though, shouldn’t we reflect His confidence? It’s only in Christ that we can know and understand the confidence we have through Him!
Jen’s devotional is called Being Confident of This: 30 Days to Discovering Your Identity in Christ.
It’s based in personal experience, which Jen shares about within each chapter. In this devotional you’ll discover the freedom in
- Overcoming the superwoman myth
- Having courage to face a giant
- Avoiding the danger of greener grass
- Embracing a work-in-progress mindset
This book is a tremendous resource for those of us looking to continue to grow in our confidence in Christ! Be sure to check out Being Confident of This, and take a few minutes to read about her heart in sharing this book!
