The internet makes it easy to stay close and connected to friends and family around the globe. I often find myself thinking what a small world it is, based on many connections that I’ve made. Though it takes a full day or so, it’s possible to travel to the other side of the world with moderate ease.
This week, Rachel Britton shared a verse that is probably very familiar to us.
As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Psalm 103:12 (NIV)
In her post, Rachel shared about a trip she made from the States to Asia. She used her trip to explain the vastness of our world, and to share how this trip put Psalm 103:12 into perspective for her in terms of understanding God’s forgiveness – as far as the east is from the west.
Though the world may seem small to us, the truth is that we can’t measure God’s forgiveness based on our finite knowledge. Rachel’s post reminded me of just how great (immense) God’s goodness and faithfulness are. When He says He forgives our sins and remembers them no more, that’s because He is operating from His infinite power.
Head over to read Rachel’s thoughts on this verse – you’ll appreciate her perspective!
