So you want to make your one precious life count…
You’ve got big dreams. But sometimes in the messiness of life, you lose sight of all you could be.
You know to show up as your best each day you need to stay connected to the Vine of Christ… but sometimes you aren’t sure how.
You want to show Jesus to those little people around you… but sometimes you just need a minute.
You’re in the right place.
Here at ArabahJoy.com, I help women like you grow in intimacy with God so you live a life of purpose, joy, and passion, and leave a legacy of faith and strength for others to follow.
In other words, I’m passionate about seeing you flourish in Christ.
For 24 years… from church planting in the states with my husband, to the foreign mission field, to right here at ArabahJoy.com… I’ve been coming alongside thousands of women, teaching how to gain traction in your walk with God.
I love creating practical and Biblical tools such as the Praying the Promises of the Cross Challenge, Love the Word Bible Study System, and Bible Study Methods: 7 Ways in 7 Days eCourse, all designed to help you live rooted and grounded in God’s truth.
I’m truly honored to meet you and hope you’ll introduce yourself to me as well?
Since I’m pretty much a blogging dinosaur 😂 I’ve been featured on amazing sites such as
Desiring God, The Better Mom, Equipping Godly Women, and conferences such as the Explore God’s Word Conference, Flourish Conference, and the Bible Study Summit.
But I get my real street cred from our nomadic lifestyle (hello temp quarters, airports, and snack bars) with my husband, Jackson, and four high octane kids. The people, places, and experiences of life have tested my mettle but sure make me a better follower of Christ.
A few random facts you probably don’t want to know:
- I am wife to Jackson and adoptive and bio mom to four precious kids aged 10-17 (can’t believe my kids are this old! Guess what that means…? 😬 )
- I started arabahjoy.com on a whim of insanity when I had 3 kids in diapers at the same time. Yeah, it’ll do that.
- I listen to Alan Walker, The Fat Rat, and do TicTok dances. My kids unleashed the beast.
- I’m also a missionary and lived in Asia for fourteen years. I have a passion to make Jesus known and help others bask in His glory. Because He is the most beautiful thing ever.
My goal for you is that when you grab a resource from my site, it’ll be the start of something special with God. Some others have shared:
“I did your Facebook 40-day fast/ prayer challenge last year and it was the start of something amazing of God working in my life.”
Missy“I’m so excited for this amazing tool to be in my war chest. Thank you so much for this beautiful way to study.”

There is so much power in prayer. During such a time as yours please battle against sitting in the seat of the scornful. I warn you 1st hand… Dont let satan have you in that seat. Remember With GOD, ALL Things Are Possible. We must forgive or we will not be forgiven..is the Scripture I allow to occupy my mind on this. If we resist satan…He Has to flee.
Pray let the spirit in me love the spirit in my husband and let the spirit in my husband love the spirit in me.
Let the spirit in me love the spirit in my husband and let the spirit in my husband love the spirit in me… Pray this prayer throughout your day… for as long as it takes… You Will See A Miracle in Jesus Christ Amen Amen

Your blog and words are beautiful. You have encouraged me to be a more Christ centered mama. Blessings!

Your writing is very deep and thought provoking. Many of us can relate to your thoughts, but most of us can not express them in words. You have a gift.
I am very moved by your heart dealing with your adopted child. One day she will know the gift you are to her. What a difference you are already making in her. May God bless you and give you the wisdom you need for the day. I am always interested in the adoption experiences as I would be open to inviting another precious one in. (we have 3 of our own).My husband is not so sure of the process, so I don’t push – waiting on God to complete His plan if it is meant to be.
Thanks for writing and sharing, may you be covered in His blessings today.

I just wonder why you only advertise this to ladies. I have read some of your material and its awesome. I’m a 60 year old male and minister. This should be advertised as just spiritual maturity and help. Most MACHO guys unfortunately would never open this site which is stupid I know. Appreciate your insite and writing.
Arabah Joy says
Joe, thank you so much for your kind comment and encouraging words. I am happy to know you found this site helpful as a man! I do advertise primarily to women because 1. I am one and 2. I feel most comfortable doing it that way. But I do have some men who read along and they are more than welcome and appreciated :) Thanks again for your comment and for being a reader. AJ

I just found your site and LOVE it. I’m a grandma (Mimi) and have copied the A-Z Virtues to pray over my grands this year. I appreciate the work that you have done to make it easy for me! I also teach s Sunday School class for adults with special needs and am planning to make sets of these cards for their parents. Sometimes we just don’t know how to pray–what a great resource this is. I look forward to dropping in again soon.

Hi,
I purchased the Fall 40 Prayer kit. I’m loving the opportunity to pray in this way for my grandchildren.
I am experiencing a poor quality when printing some of the pages, and some pages will not print at all. The 2nd and 3rd pages did not print the instructions, so I didn’t try the other introductory pages. The last pgs printed very light even though I had my printer set for a darker outcome.
Could I be doing something wrong? Do you have another format?
I would be very grateful if you would help with this purchase.
Sincerely,
Libby Myers

Hi Libby! Thanks for joining us for the challenge! It sounds like a problem with your printer. All our files are PDF’s for reliable printing and we always test print before putting them in our store. I recommend trying printing them from a different printer and see if that takes care of it. If you need us to reset the download links, please reach out to us via email. Thanks again for participating! AJ

Really love the enthusiasm and energy you put into everything you do how you find the time I will never know. I am excited about learning how to blog although I have dyslexia I can read and write but I have difficulty reading instructions. Try as I might I cannot do a memory verse but I am sure the good Lord will assist if I keep putting the words in. I care for my husband who has vascular dementia and my world is very narrow. However I do believe God has given me a gift of writing which I love so will endeavour to slowly absorb all you have to offer. I live in the Uk and we do not have as much going on here as you do. in America. Who knows maybe I can correct that. With grateful lthanks Shan (welsh for Jane)’

I just finished reading Trust Without Borders. This book has been an absolute game changer for me. I hated to read the last day because I did not want it to be over. I am so thrilled I can continue following your encouragement on your blog. I am an adoptive mom to 2 and bio to 1. Your real life honestly and transparency as a mother of great faith has rocked my walk with the Lord and taken the blinders off of ways I have neglected to accept his trust as I mother these beautiful children he has given me. Thank the Lord. I have told so many fellow mothers about this book and even just surprised one with a copy in the mail. When I started reading I had no idea how it would totally change my mother’s heart. I have read several books and been to so many conferences on how to mother kids from hard places and this book alone by far the most beneficial to my walk. I can not thank you enough for sharing your heart. My kids will be thanking you too for the way God has used you to touch my heart.

Hi arabah
Thank you for your emails
They are encouraging.
Although I don’t participate much
I am grateful for keeping me informed on
Your blog ideas and inspiration.
God Bless You :-)

Your site is inspiring and absolutely beautiful. I am a recovering addict and while I believe in God – I lack any religious structure. Although, I do pray each night, I need to teach my children more. I truly think that religion plays a big role in recovery. Because it’s more than simply not using a drug. You have left the old you behind and are creating an entirely new person. You have to be complete – mind body and soul.
All this being said, your blog is going to become one that I visit regularly. Currently, I am working through EBA. My blog, Maintaining Miracles is focused on helping women in recovery build a successful Life After The Chaos.
Your blog really gave me hope and inspiration! Thank you!

What a blessing from God, to have your page pass through my search to create prayer journals for each of my family members! Your story hit home on so many levels, as my husband and I, too, were called to Seminary during our final year of college, to the surprise of our families (as God tends to do). Both with a passion for mission work, we anticipated what our lives would look like in the future. Little did we know, God would place us in a mission field poorly neglected and difficult to reach in our own back yard.
One of our precious children, Elora (which is Hebrew for “My God is Light”), was born with an illness that we are just beginning to understand. She has something called Dysautonomia and Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome. To the average on-looker, she appears to be a beautiful, vibrant red-head with enough fire to either light up a dark corner or set it on fire :) ! Now, at the tender age of 11, she is tired of feeling sick and tired all the time, missing violin practice, playing with her friends, being too tired to enjoy what most of us take for granted. When I initially saw your post on “Having a Positive Attitude”, I thought of her. I can see much of what God has done through her illness already to bring hope and light to others that wonder if there is a God who even cares or hears their voices as they find that their illness often draws them away from the fellowship of others. I, too, it seems, have the same illness; it is one thing to struggle through it as a mom…quite another to watch or be at peace when it is your child.
God has not healed us, but He HAS used us through our illness to be light to those that otherwise would not see or feel the warmth of God’s love in their lives. Sitting in an infusion suite, sick as can be, on the same meds as my neighbors, no one can say, “Well, you are healed because you are a good person”, or “you don’t know what I’m going through”. I’m throwing up with them, half asleep, but filled with joy (not to be confused with happiness); I’d much rather be hiking in Colorado! No, the nurses and my fellow patients see the joy within me that can only be attributed to my relationship with God. Do I weep? Do I wonder if He still listens or has turned His back? Sure! But then He gently reminds me that He called us by name, and we answered; He asked if we were willing, and we said “yes”. I wanted to minister to my community; to bring hope to the lost and suffering, and to reach those that feel like God has forgotten them. Would I have clarified the boundaries of that request if I had known exactly what that would look like? I probably would…especially in the case of my daughter. But as I write at this very moment, I am reminded, “I will Trust in Him”, and the same God that called me by name, despite my flaws, will also call my beautiful Elora by Name, heal her wounded heart, and restore her joy.
Thank you for sharing your story. It is living proof that God’s Fingerprints can be found throughout time, if you are willing to open your eyes to see them and rejoice in His Unchanging Faithfulness, Love, and Grace.

Greetings, Sister!
I like the name Arabah! What does it mean? I’ve been on here for a few days, and the site is such a blessing!
Could you share some of what’s happened while you’ve been overseas? Ever since I was 8 (so for 6 years) when I got saved, I’ve had an ever increasing desire to be a medical missionary to foreign countries. What countries have you been to?
Also, my family and I are going through some troubled times right now. I cannot go into detail right now, but maybe at a later time, I’ll be able to. I have a feeling that what we’re going through will work out for the Lord’s will in the end, but currently, if I’m being honest with myself, I think I’m starting to doubt my faith more and more with all the stress being added to me.
All I’m asking for is prayer and advice.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Happy New Years and God bless!
Respectfully,
Sister in Christ,
Cheyenne

Hi Arabah.
I reached a crossroads in life. Feeling that my Christian values were constantly under attack. Not knowing what my calling in life should be and constantly reading that Christianity is in decline. But I realised that we have become collectively silent. My calling, every Christians ultimate calling and mission, has always been to share and to educate others in His life, His glory, His words. This is what I hope to do with my new website and after reading your post on – 5 {Surprising} Tips For Being a Successful Christian Blogger – i believe that we can all achieve that. Thank you.

I would like to do some of these things but I can’t do them since I don’t have a Bible anymore and I would like to do some of these things and it is hard for me.
Marie White says
Hi Karen, I’ve just discovered this site so I’m still exploring around. I hope that you have a Bible by now. I can’t imagine living without one. I’ve had my Mustang and my Jeep towed away last winter and I still don’t have a vehicle; I’m OK without them but don’t take away my Bible. I just felt like I had to reach out to you to make sure you’re back on track and in His Word. If, by chance you’re not, I would be surprised, firstly; secondly, I would be more than happy to send one to you. I’m just not sure that I can acquire your address or even find my way back to this very comment to see if you respond… So, I’ll see what I can do; meanwhile, I will say a prayer or two in hopes that you’re able to hold His Glorious Words in your hands and read them every day. God Bless and Be With You Always.
Sincerely,
Marie

Hello Arabah Joy!! FINALLY, we meet. I joined as a Founding Member in Jan..2019 or 2018. For a whole $10.
Some health problems have kept me from being active in Sojo Academy. But whenever our Father allows testing in our lives, it is ultimately meant to conform us to the image of Jesus Christ. HALLELUJAH! Whatever comes into our lives is filtered through fingers of Love. So we CAN give thanks in all things.
Just wanted to say, let us remember to make offerings….and I consider whatever comes into your ministry as part of that. (And if it makes God happy, I’m happy!)
I have been encouraged by your emails. Oh what joy they have given me!
So if some things that were formerly free are no longer free, I give as an offering. Besides, you have to meet operating costs like the cost of your website, printing, and most of all, your time.
I give you permission to publish my email address. If it will help your ministry, I will even tell my age, 67 years…just don’t ask my weight.
Love in Jesus,
Phyllis Eaves
