12 Daily Prayers for Children {{ FREE Prayer Bookmark }}
Looking to pray for your children? As parents, we can’t protect our children from every evil or bad influence out there… but we can pray that God will.
Let’s be honest…. sometimes, praying for our kids can be hit or miss. I have found it much easier to consistently pray for my kids when I have some simple tools to use. Things like these prayer cards hung around the house and this prayer bookmark in my bible have increased both the quality and quantity of my daily prayers for my children:

Here are 12 Simple, Daily Prayers to Pray for Your Children:
#1 Prayer for Your Child: Salvation
The most important decision our child can make is to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We should pray that God would work in the lives of our children to lead them to Christ. We should pray that we could parent them well and display the gospel to them so they may respond.
Lord, rain down your righteousness, bring my children to yourself, and save them.
Is 45:8, Ec 12:1
#2 Prayer for Your Child: Conviction of sin
Our children cannot repent of their sins if they are not convicted of them. Let’s pray that our children would understand that their sin is against God and that it destroys their relationship with him. And let’s pray that they do not feel condemnation because of their sin, but that they would repent and turn back to God.
Father, convict my children of their sin. Help them remember that you see them and keep them from sin.
1 John 2:1, Num 32:23
#3 Prayer for Your Child: Humility and submissive spirit
Our culture tells us that we should be able to be our own authority, but God’s word says that’s not true. We are all under some authority: our government, our church, our employers. Pray that your children would submit to these authorities with a humble and submissive spirit. Most of all, pray that they would humble themselves before the Lord and submit to him.
God, keep my children humble and help them submit their hearts to you.
James 4:10
#4 Prayer for Your Child: Love for God’s Word
The Word of God is powerful! It is what God will use to lead our children to humility, to convict them of sin, and to bring them to himself through salvation. Pray that your children would LOVE God’s Word, that they would long for it as a deer pants for water.
Lord, create a love for your word in my children that your Holy Scripture would be the light for their path.
Ps 119:105
#5 Prayer for Your Child: Protection from evil
As parents, we want to protect our children from everything. If you’ve been a parent for any length of time, you know you can’t. You’re not always with them, but you do know the one who is! Pray that God would protect your children from evil and to lead them away from sin.
As Jesus prayed, Father, while they are in this world, keep my children from evil.
John 17:15
#6 Prayer for Your Child: Free from the need of other’s approval
We want our children to be bold for the Lord. We want them to stand for what is right even in the face of persecution, like Paul did. They will never be bold like Paul if they are seeking other’s approval. Pray that they would be free from needing other’s approval and instead seek the approval of God.
Help my children to fear you, oh Lord, above all people. Free them from needing the approval from anyone but you.
#7 Prayer for Your Child: Wisdom and wise choices
In a world full of foolishness, let’s pray that our children would be wise. There are many opportunities for them to choose wisdom or foolishness and I pray that they would choose wisdom. Making wise choices will help them honor God with their lives and avoid unnecessary trouble.
Surround my children with wisdom, Lord, and help them to make wise choices.
Pro 4:5-7
#8 Prayer for Your Child: Submission to God
While we want our children to submit to their earthly authorities, we even more want them to submit to the King of Kings and the Ruler of all. Pray that your children would submit themselves to God willingly and that they would joyfully obey him their whole lives.
My God, change the hearts of my children that they would always submit to you.
James 4:7
#9 Prayer for Your Child: Faith that works
We all have friends who say they are Christians but their lives wouldn’t agree. James tells us that if we truly believe in Jesus that our lives will be changed. Pray that the faith that your children have in the Lord would be put into action.
Above all, Father, let the faith of my children be proven by the works of their hands. Let them be doers of the word, not hearers only.
James 1:22
#10 Prayer for Your Child: Godly friendships
Friendships are so important. They can have a massive affect on someone’s life. Pray that God would bring your children friends who would encourage them towards Christ.
As David had Jonathan, bring Godly friendships to my children that they would have friends to encourage them to be more like your Son.
1 Sam 23:16
#11 Prayer for Your Child: Lifelong relationships with siblings
While friends will come and go through life, siblings will last a lifetime. I want my children to grow up to be each others best friends and enjoy the times when we are able to all come together again. Pray that your children would grow lifelong friendships with their siblings.
I pray, Lord, that you would grow a lifelong friendship between my children, that they would love one another all their lives.
Job 1:2-4
#12 Prayer for Your Child: Future spouse
One day, our children will make a lifetime covenant in marriage. We should begin praying now for our child’s future spouse. Pray that they are growing closer to God, that they are protected from sin, and that they are growing in wisdom.
Father, we know that a good wife or husband is a good gift from you. Be with my child’s future spouse and bring him or her up into salvation.
Prov. 18:22
