1. New Morning Mercies: A Daily Gospel Devotional

~By Paul David Tripp

There is nothing like the gospel! I love this devotional because it focuses on the goodness and grace of God. In this devotional, Dr. Tripp presents bite sized nuggets of good news in daily doses to nourish the soul.

2. It Is Finished: 365 Days of Good News

~By Tullian Tchividjian

This is another gospel based devotional. Tullian Tchividjian daily reminds the believer that Christ’s death once and forever “finished” our need to be good. This devotional takes rich truths and illustrates them, giving understanding to the greatest news ever.

3. Turning Points with God: 365 Daily Devotions

~By David Jeremiah

So this devotional is different from the two above. In Dr. David Jeremiah’s devotional, he highlights a scripture, makes a point, and then includes a quote from someone else. He quotes people such as C.S. Lewis, A.W. Tower, Charles Spurgeon, and D.L. Moody. If you want to be encouraged and challenged by respected Christian thinkers, this devotional will do it.

4. The Life Under God

~By Tony Evans

I listened to Dr. Evans on the radio as a teen and have always appreciated his passion, communication skill, and love for the Word. This 365 day devotional published by Moody challenges the believer to live counter-culturally, for God’s Kingdom and not the world’s.

5. Draw the Circle: The 40 Day Prayer Challenge

~By Mark Batterson

My blogging friend Kimberly recommended this devotional to me and I have to tell you, I am loving it. It’s like daily shots of spiritual espresso! If you need vision and encouragement to keep on praying bodacious prayers, this one’s for you.

6. Comforts from the Cross: Celebrating the Gospel One Day at a Time

~By Elyse Fitzpatrick

This devotional is not *new* per se but it is one of my favorites. I have this thing underlined and dog-eared. It is one of those books that is sure to become a friend. Elyse unfolds the gospel in these 31 readings. This devotional is truly a treasure!

7. The 30-Day Praise Challenge

~By Becky Harling

To appreciate this devotional, you need to know the backstory:

“When Becky Harling was diagnosed with cancer over ten years ago, she begged God for healing. A friend of hers had another idea. She challenged Becky to spend twenty minutes a day in praise. Becky thought, What if I’m not feeling thankful? But as she intentionally praised God, she began to experience new joy—and her relationship with God has never been the same.”

This devotional challenges the reader to do the same thing Becky did: spend 20 minutes a day in praise for one month. Becky includes song suggestions for each day, making it super easy to follow through. I love this one!

8. The Wonder of His Name: 32 Life-Changing Names of Jesus

~By Nancy Leigh DeMoss

9. Christ Walk: A 40-Day Spiritual Fitness Program

~By Anna Courie

So a disclaimer first: This one I have not read yet so cannot give a solid thumbs up on the content. I do know the author differs theologically from me; however, I love the fact that she is a registered nurse and has paired physical health with spiritual growth. She developed a walking program for members of her church, then it expanded to multiple churches, and finally, into this book. The layout of this devotional alone motivates me. I hope to read this at some point and am looking forward to it!

10. Achieving Your Potential (The Uncommon Life Weekly Challenge)

There are several things I love about this devotional. First, it is suitable for the men out there. Second, it is unique in that there are 52 entries, perfect for Sunday afternoon meditation and reflection. And lastly, Uncommon is my word so this makes my list!

Bonus!
