Earlier this year Jackson and I changed ministry roles. We moved to a new team with new responsibilities and although this isn’t the first time we’ve done this, it was difficult.
Change frequently creates a thunderstorm of questions and overall wondering what God is doing. Especially when you follow God’s leading into change … and the bottom of your world drops out.
Instead of the results you expected, you get obstacles. Instead of loving the change, you hate it. Instead of an exciting adventure, it feels like a tedious burden.
You begin wondering if you heard God correctly. Did you bring this on yourself? Are you missing something obvious? The questions and doubts can be brutal.
If you are in that place today can I just say you aren’t alone? These questions are normal and helpful to process through. But don’t allow doubt to become a dart of the enemy. Don’t allow Satan to shipwreck your faith and render you vision-less and useless for the work God has given you to do.
As someone else said, don’t question in the dark what God revealed to you in the light.
“Back then it was exhilarating. We had a renewed sense of purpose and couldn’t wait to discover more of the “why” behind what God was clearly orchestrating.
But now things were hard. Really hard.
And when things are hard, the flesh screams, “This can’t be right.””
I was saying, “She gets this!” all through this post. Food for the soul. If you are doubting your call or your ability to hear God, this post is a must-read. Plus Christi shares a podcast that you don’t want to miss!
