At this time of year we hear many words of gratitude – people expressing thanks for family, friends, jobs, homes, fun activities, and quiet moments. It seems there is so much to be thankful for!
But many people struggle at Thanksgiving and Christmas time. Perhaps their situations are not ideal, maybe they are tired – worn thin, the day-to-day may present a real struggle.
Maybe that’s where you find yourself right now – struggling to pray because you just don’t feel thankful.
This week, Rachel shared a post about still finding ways to pray when you don’t feel thankful. I think she’s right in her idea that if we’re looking at the physical – our current situations – many of us may not feel grateful.
But then she shares an idea that we can all take – an idea that gives us hope as Christians.
I hope you’ll take a few minutes and head over to read her suggestion on finding things to be thankful for. I’d love to hear something that you are grateful for based on her suggestion!
If you are here and don’t yet have a personal relationship with the Lord, and you’re struggling with gratitude at this time of the year, I pray that these words shared here, and those in Rachel’s post, will draw you closer to Jesus.
