How often do you pray together with another sister in Christ?
Yesterday I had a meeting with my child’s teacher and you know what she did to open our meeting?
She prayed for my daughter and for our family and for wisdom how to help my child. That one act of love and graciousness ministered to my heart in multiple ways. I was reminded of how much we need corporate prayer!
In fact, Jesus modeled and taught corporate prayer. Deborah writes, “Members of the early church prayed together when persecuted (4:23-31), when sending out gospel workers (13:1-3), and when appointing church leaders (14:23). They prayed together on beaches (21:5-6), at river banks (16:13), on board ships (27:35-38), and in their homes (2:42-47).”
Early believers modeled corporate prayer not as an occasional tack-on to the main event, but as a LIFESTYLE.
I appreciate Deborah’s post because this is another of those things we have to be intentional about. My question for us today is, “What ONE thing can I do to be intentional about corporate prayer?”
I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments! And be sure to visit Deborah because she has some great ideas in her post as well.
