Do you live in a state of information overload? With all sorts of information literally at our fingertips, it’s easy to fall into information consumption mode… which quickly turns into info obesity.
Brands, companies, and Facebook are all banking big bucks on our insatiable drive for info.
This week I read Dianne’s post where she said something profound. She said, “Adam & Eve’s choice was to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They chose knowledge over life.”
As one who consumes a lot of info, this pretty much stopped me in my tracks. Each time I choose to read another post, article, status update, free webinar (and the list goes on and on), I wonder how often I’m actually choosing knowledge over life?
Truth is, it’s okay not to know. It’s okay to step off the info highway. It’s okay to watch the crowd rush past. It really is okay. Because Jesus promises LIFE in abundance, but we don’t get it through info consumption. We get it through stillness, trust, and our obedience to Him. (John 4:32)
Dianne, thank you for such an honest, much needed post. Feel free to grab the featured button below. For those of you visiting Dianne today, be sure to read the comments as well. I think it will bless you to see so many others making a decision to limit the noise in favor of the Name.
