Easter Scavenger Hunt
This Easter Bible verse scavenger hunt is a wonderful way to drive home the true reason for Easter. Grab this scavenger hunt to use with your family and enjoy a Bible scavenger hunt outdoors or indoors!
Easter is perhaps THE biggest deal ever to a Christian. Right? It’s all about the resurrection, triumph, and glory of Jesus Christ.
So I certainly want this holiday to be more than bunnies and eggs in my home. I want my kids to celebrate the amazing power of the empty tomb!
A few years back, after browsing Pinterest of course, my oldest son and I came up with a Christian Easter treasure hunt idea – a scavenger and photo hunt.
The idea is to walk through the Easter story but do a Bible scavenger hunt outdoors or indoors, while walking through the Easter story! To make it even more fun, my son added the photo idea.
Here’s how the Easter Scavenger Hunt works:
- First, print off one copy of the Easter Bible Verse Scavenger Hunt Worksheet for each person (see below).
- Next, break into teams. You can divide the teams any way you’d like, just be sure each team has a phone or other device with a camera!
- Next, each team will look up the Scriptures in the Easter Bible verse scavenger hunt, walking through the Easter story. There are ten scriptures and each verse mentions a specific item to draw or take pictures of.
- Finally, go take photos of each item in the Easter Story Scavenger Hunt! If a team absolutely can’t find an item, they can draw it and take a photo of it but it adds a minute to their time for each item they draw. This should only be a last resort! You can hide the Easter scavenger hunt clues outside, inside, or both.
The first team back wins!
Please note, this hunt involves indoor and outdoor items. Once everyone has completed it, have them share their photos and tell the Easter story in their own words.

What a fun activity! And a great way to read your Bible while staying active. Since some children learn better by doing this would be a great way to teach the story of Jesus. Thanks for sharing.
