There’s a little verse in II Samuel 22:30 that says, “By You I can run upon a troop and by my God I can leap over a wall.”
I’ve always liked that verse because it reminds me we can accomplish some pretty amazing feats… with the Lord’s help.
Perhaps my experience is unique, but I find that many Christians don’t speak about the enabling power of God in our lives to do things like running upon a troop or scaling a wall or losing weight or changing the way we interact with our kids. Ambition seems to be a bad word.
From Titus 2:12, Hebrews 13:9, and II Corinthians 9:8 however, we see it’s God’s grace that ENABLES us to say YES to every good and godly work and say NO to every ungodly and selfish desire. The Bible tells us the grace of God is always sufficient, no matter what. It can even help us do things like running upon a troop or leaping over a wall.
Many of us think of grace as forgiveness only, a divine get-out-of-jail-free card. We fail to understand grace is also our go-to resource for divine enablement.
Scripture describes grace as the power of God (see I Corinthians 15:10). But do we appropriate it? Do we know how to practically convert it to power the engine of our lives? Do we know how to access grace in meaningful ways?
Those are the questions we’re talking about over at Kaylene’s blog today. I do hope you’ll join us because we’ve got some great news about godly ambition! Getting a grasp of these biblical truths can transform your life.
