How often are you attacked in your thought life? I can safely say the answer is “often.”
Did you know the most deadly attacks aren’t those we easily recognize but those we do not? Have you learned which lies you are most susceptible to? Understanding my core lies was a huge milestone in my spiritual life. (And they can change.)
I believe discovering your core lies is one of the most life changing things we can do as believers. Yeah, it’s about letting the Lord get all up in our personal business.
Where do you start, you ask? Well Sarah Mae’s book Core Lies walks you through the process of identifying your core lies. It just so happens that I met Sarah Mae online around the time she was writing this book and I had the privilege of sharing a bit of my story in it.
It is a short read that’s not only informative but extremely practical. Core Lies guides you through discovering the hidden untruths behind toxic emotions such as anger, anxiety, insecurity, and more. It is great material for a personal spiritual retreat.
I don’t know about you, but I need one of those.
Anyone want to join me in spending some time with the Lord this weekend, asking Him to identify the lies we are most susceptible to?
As part of your spiritual retreat time, check out this week’s featured post. Abi shares a time her thoughts were rooted in lies instead of truth. She gives a biblical strategy for combatting lies that is in-the-moment-practical. I appreciate Abi’s blog and this post in particular.
